(Phnom Penh): Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence, highlighted that four days of Thai military aggression have displaced 25,000 Cambodian families and disrupted the education of 130,000 children.
Maly Socheata spoke on Sunday (Jul. 27) during a press conference.
She said that Thailand’s brutal and reckless acts have severely affected civilians, schools, and other essential infrastructure.
“In just four days, the number of displaced families in Preah Vihear, Oddar Meanchey, and Pursat has surged to 25,000, affecting more than 80,000 people,” she underscored.
Maly Socheata added that, as of noon on July 26, 536 schools across 14 districts in five provinces have been forced to shut down, leaving 130,000 students unable to attend classes due to ongoing Thai bombardments and invasions.
