Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 29 – Chorn Soklin and her team made a video called “The Nightmare” to raise awareness of human trafficking and commitments of Cambodia as well as ASEAN in combating social injustice; and encourage victims to persevere and life their lives to the fullest.
Her video won the first place in the competition with other 10 Southeast Asian countries under the theme "ASEAN Against Human Trafficking: Not for Sale."
Chorn Soklin was announced as the first place winner on November 27, 2017 in Bohol, Philippines.
Keo Remy, President of the Cambodian Human Rights Committee, and a large number of students attended the award ceremony at Royal University of Phnom Penh on November 29, 2017 to celebrate this young female Cambodian success.
The ceremony was also organized to promote ASEAN youths’ achievements in combating human trafficking issue in accordance with the ASEAN Human Rights Declaration and the ASEAN Convention Against Human Trafficking, especially Women and Children.
