MANILA, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Fifteen suspected communist rebels have been killed and two others wounded in a clash with Philippine army in central Philippines, the military and news reports said on Wednesday.
The military said five soldiers have also been wounded in the "encounter" which took place around 8:20 p.m. on Tuesday night.
A female rebel wounded in Tuesday's clash also reportedly died in the hospital on Wednesday, bringing the number of the dead to 15.
The military recovered 12 high-powered firearms from the New People's Army (NPA) rebels who were on board a jeepney when fired upon by soldiers.
The NPA is the military wing of the Communist Party of the Philippines.
The clashes occurred several days after Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte terminated the government's peace talks with the rebels.
