(Nice): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet called on the media and public to remain calm and place their trust in the Royal Government and Armed Forces in safeguarding Cambodia’s territorial integrity and national interests.

In a message shared on social media on Monday (Jun. 9), Samdech Thipadei also reiterated his call for the public to avoid creating or spreading unclear information that could lead to misunderstandings and escalate the situation beyond reality—potentially fuelling conflict between the people of Cambodia and Thailand.

Following the Ministry of National Defence’s earlier statement, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet reaffirmed the Royal Government’s commitment to working with Thailand in advancing border demarcation efforts. These efforts, conducted through the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Boundary Commission (JBC), are guided by bilateral agreements—particularly the 2000 Memorandum of Understanding—and international law, including recourse to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) when necessary. This applies to unresolved areas such as the Ta Moan Thom, Ta Moan Tauch, and Ta Krabei temples, as well as the Emerald Triangle region.

According to Prime Minister Hun Manet, the Royal Government will continue to maintain diplomatic engagement between the two countries through all existing mechanisms, for the mutual benefit of both the Cambodian and Thai peoples.
