(Phnom Penh): Cambodian and Thai military officials have agreed to reposition their troops in a joint effort to de-escalate tensions along the border, a spokesperson from Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defense announced on Sunday (Jun. 8).

In a recent meeting, both sides committed to relocating forces stationed in three high-risk border zones to more appropriate areas. As part of the agreement, unarmed delegations—consisting of seven personnel from each side—will meet three times a week.
