Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 16 - At 8:40 am on Thursday, the Supreme Court began a public hearing on the dissolution of Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP), with nine judges and a prosecutor, one clerk, and four lawyers.
In the hearing chamber, recording and photos are not permitted.
On Wednesday, a group of lawyers from the Ministry of Interior submitted Kong Korm’s name, a senior advisor to Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP), to the Supreme Court, requesting the court to ban him from political activities for five years.
So far, there are 118 CNRP leaders and officials who will be banned from political activities for five years.
CNRP, the largest opposition party in Cambodia is 5 years and 4 months old, and will be decided by the Supreme Court whether or not survive or dissolve.
