Phnom Penh (FN), November 8 - Shortly after a statement released by Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP), there was a new statement with the same content released by the CNRP members with Sam Rainsy’s name and signature.

The statement with the name and the signature was posted on the official Facebook page of Sam Rainsy on Wednesday afternoon.

The statement is considered as contradictory to the law of the political party, which does not allow any political parties to be involved with convict.

Sam Rainsy resigned as President of CNRP on February 11, 2017. His resignation came after the amendment to the law on political parties that did not allow convicts or offenders to involve in politics.

The newly amended law on political parties, banned all parties to use the voice or statements of prisoners for political purposes.
