KIEV, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- An Airbus A320 passenger plane en route from Russia's Moscow to Turkey made an emergency landing at Ukraine's southern city of Odessa on Tuesday evening after crew suspected there was a bomb on board, a senior Ukrainian police official said.
Ruslan Forostyak, an advisor to Odessa regional police chief, wrote on Facebook that one of the passengers had left a suspicious bag in the plane's toilet cabin, prompting the fears that an explosive device could be hidden inside it.
According to Forostyak, Ukrainian explosive experts have inspected the luggage item, but found no explosives.
The owner of the bag, who is a Lithuanian national, is being questioned by Ukraine's State Security Service, the official said.
The plane was operated by Turkish air carrier, Forostyak said, without giving details on the name of the carrier or the plane's destination.
Meanwhile, local media said that the plane was an aircraft of Pegasus Airlines flying to Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey.
