Phnom Penh (FN), October 29 – CNRP lawmaker, Pol Ham claimed that the Senate voter list made by senior leaders and Kem Sokha, president of CNRP, is in line with the law on political party because nobody has the rights to sign it besides the president of CNRP.
His remark was made in an interview with Lim Chea Vutha, CEO of Fresh News on Sunday.
What Pol Ham has mentioned seem to rule out Sam Rainsy’s words that decisions must be approved by 3 key people in the party, including Mu Sochua, Eng Chhai Eang and Yim Sovann, particularly the candidates for the upcoming Senate elections.
Meanwhile, Mao Monyvann, a senior official and a lawmaker for CNRP, stated that Kem Sokha’s signature on the Senate's candidacy was legitimate.
CNRP former president, Sam Rainsy has alerted the accuracy of any decision issued by Kem Sokha because of his detention that may be subject to pressure. He added that the party's official decision is made by the Permanent Committee members.
