YANGON, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have detained two foreign journalists for their flying of drones over the parliament building in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday, Myanmar News Agency reported Saturday.
The two journalists respectively from Singapore and Malaysia are under interrogation after the drones were seized from them, the Ministry of Home Affairs was quoted as saying.
Both of the two are identified as working for the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT).
The authorities charged them with intending to take photos of Nay Pyi Taw parliament building and pagodas when security guards spotted them, the report said, adding that the Myanmar Foreign Ministry has informed the Singapore and Malaysian embassies in Yangon about their detention.
