JAKARTA, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- A fireworks factory in Tanggerang city near the Indonesia's capital caught fire on Thursday, leaving 30 workers dead and 46 others injured, a police officer said.
The peace and order officer in the city, Saduni, said that all the injured are being treated in three nearby hospitals.
"The number of casualties is 30 and that of the injured is 46," he told a local TV at the scene.
Most of the bodies were found in a production room of the factory operated by PT Panca Buana, Oni Sahroni, a firefighter, said at the scene.
According to police chief in Tanggerang Senior Commissioner Hari Kurniawan, the incident was allegedly triggered by short circuit.
