Phnom Penh (FN), October 17 - Singaporean Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vivian Balakrishnan, said that Singaporean investors in Cambodia are very optimistic about Cambodia’s peace and stability that provide better environment for investment.
The remark was made during his courtesy visit with Prime Minister Hun Sen on Tuesday.
During a visit, Dr. Vivian praised Cambodia for maintaining a growth of approximately 7 percent in the last two decades, according to Eang Sophalleth, Personal Secretary to PM Hun Sen.
Dr. Vivian also sees the peace and the prosperity of Cambodia through a number of high-rise buildings and traffic congestion.
Dr. Vivian said that although Singapore is a small country, Cambodia-Singapore relations have improved. He will work hard to strengthen the relationship as well as expanding cooperation between the two countries.
PM Hun Sen expressed his pride towards Cambodia-Singapore historical relationship. He also paid tribute to Singapore's initiative on ASEAN integration that allows Cambodia to benefit greatly from this initiative, especially on human resource development.
