BRUSSELS, Dec. 20 (TASS) – The European Union has already spent more than 130 billion euro to support Ukraine, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen told reporters after the European Council meeting in Brussels.

"Looking back, Europe has so far provided Ukraine with almost 130 billion euro," she said.

In her words, the European Union delivered more weapons to Ukraine than the United States did. According to von der Leyen, the EU accounts for 47% of weapons sent to Ukraine with around 40% being provided by the United States.

Brussels is ready to allocate 30.6 billion euro to Ukraine in financial assistance alone next year, the European official continued, adding that arms deliveries were not included into that figure.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said earlier than Kiev received 98% of its weapons from NATO member countries.
