Phnom Penh (FN), October 4 - Mu Sochua, an opposition party official, left Cambodia early this morning after Prime Minister Hun Sen reaffirmed the commitment to arrest people who committed treason following the arrest of Kem Sokha, a president of Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP).
"I received information from government official that the arrest will be done next week. I cannot tell which official or ministry informed me,” Mu Sochua told Phnom Penh Post.
"He [PM Hun Sen] made a clear statement on what my two colleagues and I said in the three provinces,” she added.
PM Hun Sen announced that the treason case did not end with Mr. Kem Sokha's arrest at the inauguration of the Sokha Hotel on Monday. The case was systematically organized with many people involved.
The premier has vowed to continue the measures to eliminate the traitors. He did not want rebels in the city.
Since Kem Sokha was arrested earlier in September on charges of treason, senior CNRP officials, including Eng Chhay Eang, Ho Van, Yim Sovann, and Kem Monovithia, left the country.
