Phnom Penh (FN), September 28 - The French Embassy in Phnom Penh announced that on Saturday, September 30th, it will allow the public free and open access to its grounds.
According to a press release from the French Embassy, the public is welcome to explore the grounds for Heritage Day, a holiday which has been celebrated in France, and around the globe, for more than 30 years.
The purpose is to allow the public to access to buildings or sites that are usually not open or are restricted.
Visitors can visit the embassy's premises, including the ambassador's residence, and especially the beautiful parks, where there is the former side of the embassy’s door. The history of the door was compiled into a famous novel, which was filmed on the April 1975.
The French embassy in Cambodia was completely renovated between 1993 and 1995 by a French company.
Beside the buildings and locations in the French embassy, people may wish to visit Phnom Penh City Hall, the Ambassador Hotel, the Australian Embassy, the UNESCO World Heritage Office, the French Agency for Development, and VAN'S Restaurant to honor this holiday.
