Phnom Penh (FN), September 27 – After asking U.S Ambassador for a visit in Svay Rieng, Prime Minister Hun Sen asked the US to consider the problem of the nearly 3 million tons of remaining bombs dropped by U.S during the war, and not just collecting U.S debt and soldiers' remains.
Meanwhile, chemical bombs left over from the 1970's have been discovered in Svay Rieng province. The bombs weigh in at 200 kilograms each.
PM Hun Sen mentioned that the two bombs are causing great concern amongst the people living nearby, making it difficult for officials to launch operations.
He expects the U.S ambassador will consider the issue of unexploded ordnance in Svay Rieng as well as other American bombs buried in Cambodian territory.
The remark came during a visit to more than 10,000 workers from factories in Meanchey district on Wednesday.
