NEW DELHI, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- A passenger plane of India's national carrier Air India has hit a ground cooling unit truck at the international airport in Delhi, aviation officials said.
The incident happened late Friday night when Air India flight 319 was on its way to the taxi bay at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, a senior aviation official said Saturday.
"Though there have been no reports of any casualty in the incident, an engine of the plane sustained damage and ground engineers are fixing it," he said.
India's civil aviation regulator has ordered a probe into the incident, the official said.
"We will investigate how the truck came in the way of the aircraft. The truck driver's air port driving licence could be seized if found guilty of flouting basic ground rules," he added.
This is not the first such freak incident of a collision at the Delhi airport.
In April this year, a catering van hit an Air India plane, with some 70 passengers on board, at Indira Gandhi International Airport minutes before take-off.
