Phnom Penh (FN), September 11 – National Assembly (N.A) decided on Monday for the court to continue the legal procedure on Kem Sokha's case.
The decision came after the N.A Standing Committee's meeting held yesterday to review CNRP president Kem Sokha’s immunity.
The representatives of the PPMC on Tuesday accused Kem Sokha of committing treason.
CNRP’s president is facing a penalty of 15 to 30 years in prison based on article 443 of the criminal code, according to Ly Saphana, spokesperson for the prosecution.
Sok Eysan, CPP spokesman, stated that in order to stop court's legal procedure on the arrest and detention of Kem Sokha, charged of committing treason, CNRP has to have 3/4 support from all the lawmakers of the N.A.
