Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 11 – In a significant step towards enhancing the ease of travel to Cambodia, and in alignment with the visionary leadership and national development strategy endorsed by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN MANET, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Canadia Bank, one of the country’s leading financial institutions with over 33 years of experience in Cambodia’s financial market, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Interior. This agreement supports visa fee collection from foreign travelers through the Bank's latest e-payment services.
The signing ceremony was presided over by H.E. Kirth Chantharith, Secretary of State of Ministry of Interior, representing H.E. Abhisantibindit Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Okhna Vann Charles, EVP and Executive Board of Director of Canadia Bank, with the participation from the key management and distinguished officials from both entities. This partnership marks a milestone in Cambodia’s journey towards a seamless digital economy and aligns with Canadia Bank’s ongoing digital transformation efforts. It enables swift and secure e-payment solutions for Cambodia e-Arrival system, simplifying the visa application process for international travelers. It also covers the over-the-counter visa fee payments upon arrival at Cambodia’s international airports in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville.
The Cambodia e-Arrival system, established by the General Department of Immigration in collaboration with key governmental bodies, represents a leap forward in how Cambodia welcomes its visitors, eliminating the complexity of the traditional paperwork process. The foreign travelers can now complete their visa applications online by providing the required personal documents and details via www.arrival.gov.kh or the Cambodia e-Arrival app, available on both the App Store and Google Play.
With the integration of Canadia Bank’s cutting-edge e-payment services, visitors can make hassle-free visa fee payments on Cambodia’s e-arrival’s mobile app or website by selecting Canadia Bank as their preferred payment provider. A wide range of payment options is available, including Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, JCB, Alipay, and WeChat Pay. In addition to the online payment platform, travelers who apply for a visa directly over-the-counter at Cambodia’s international airports can also make payments using Canadia Bank’s Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals, which offer a smooth and secure transaction experience with contactless payment options.
