Phnom Penh (FN), August 31 – CPP’s spokesman Sok Eysan on Thursday called the opposition's policy of calling Cambodian leaders as "Vietnamese" is following the footsteps of "Khmer Rouge".

The remark was made after the opposition accused CPP supporters as “Vietnamese”.

Opposition activists also called new market vendors, who have met with PM Hun Sen on Saturday, as Vietnamese.

"Those who did not support them were considered Vietnamese, while they forgot that their ancestors were Vietnamese, including Sam Rainsy’s father, and his great-grandmother,” stated Sok Eysan.

"The tradition of this defamation follows Pol Pot's policy, accusing others of being the KGB or CIA. Later, maybe Kem Sokha will be Vietnamese and the party will end up like the Khmer Rouge and Pol Pot”, he added.
