Phnom Penh (FN), August 30 - Sar Kheng, Minister of Interior (MoI) spared fifteen days for the Khmer Power Party (KPP) to appoint a new leader and submit the relevant documents to MoI, according to MoI's letter, dated Wednesday, addressed to KPP's acting president Soung Sophorn.
Sourn Serey Ratha, the president of KPP, was temporarily detained on August 14 for public incitement and demotivating military spirit under the article 472 and article 494 of criminal code.
"The result of the war with Laos is the same as the war with Thailand! Only Khmer low-ranking soldiers died, whereas, the leaders collect the merit and stay safely away from the fighting,” Ratha wrote on FB.
Phnom Penh Municipal Court sentenced Sourn Serey Ratha to 5-year imprisonment and fined him $2,500 for insulting country’s military leaders.
