YANGON, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have declared some armed attackers and Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) as extremist terrorist groups in accordance with the Counter-Terrorism Law, according to the statement from the anti-terrorism central committee issued on late Friday.
The terrorist groups had earlier launched attacks at some police outposts and their heardquarters in Maungtaw, Yethedaung and Buthidaung townships, killing 9 police, in Myanmar's Rakhine state.
The authorities inferred that the terrorists had infiltrated the area and organized to escalate the extremist terrorism in the area, said the statement.
The government will do all in its power to refrain violence and bring justice to the perpetrators and their supporters, the statement said.
The statement also claimed that the government has also formed committees to undertake the tasks for security, stability and peace, rule of law, regional development in Rakhine state.
