POI PET, BANTEAY MEANCHEY (FN), Feb. 3 – Many Cambodian vendors at Rong Kloeur Market located just across the border inside Thailand, were arrested by Thai police after they allegedly attempted to challenge the Thai authorities from confiscating their counterfeit products and smashing a Thai police’s car.
The vendors were arrested at around 10:00 am on Feb. 3, at the market when Thai police surrounded a shopping booth that was allegedly selling counterfeit-branded glasses and watches in violation of the Thai intellectual properties law.
Cambodian residents and vendors in the area are seeking the government’s intervention over the arrested.
