Phnom Penh (FN), July 28 - The amendment on Law on Political Parties has come into force on Friday, promulgated by Acting Head of State and President of Senate, Say Chhum.
Constitutional Council on July 25 released a decision that the amendment is in accordance with the constitution.
"The amendment reflects democracy and rule of law in compliances with Paris Peace Accord and Constitution of Cambodia," stated CPP spokesman, Sok Eysan.
The amendment to the law on political parties was organized by the Cambodia People's Party lawmakers and was passed by majority vote in the National Assembly on July 10, 2017.
The amendment on law of the political party has made changes to 5 articles. The new article, Article 6 (II), stipulates that political parties shall not use audio, images, documents, or collaborate with convict for political reasons.
