Phnom Penh (FN), July 27 - Thursday morning, the Royal Government of Cambodia and Brunei signed agreement that would prevent double taxation and fiscal evasion.
The agreement was signed by Aun Porn Moniroth, Minister of Economy and Finance, Representative of the Royal Government of Cambodia, and Pengiran Kasmirhan bin Pegiran Haji Mohammad Tahir, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei to Cambodia, Representative of the Government of Brunei.
This is the third agreement on the avoidance of double taxation following the agreement with Singapore and China.
This agreement ensures the right of taxation, which is a key basis for attracting foreign direct investment, capital flows, technology transfer from foreign expertise, residential protection against improperly tax-related liability, and the protection of local tax revenues through cooperation between the two countries.
It is another key achievement of the 5th mandate of the Royal Government of Cambodia and that the government is working on this agreement with Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and Korea.
