Phnom Penh (FN), July 26 – Eva Nguyen Binh, the new French Ambassador to Cambodia, expressed her appreciation to the Royal Government of Cambodia for its effort to register Sambor Prei Kuk temple as a World Heritage Site.

The admiration of the French ambassador was made during a courtesy call with Prime Minister Hun Sen at Peace Palace on Wednesday.

“During the past three years, the trade and economic ties between Cambodia and France have doubled," said Eva Nguyen Binh.

"My mission to Cambodia now is to make every effort to strengthen the relationship between the two countries, including bilateral and multilateral cooperation,” she said.

PM Hun Sen thanked the Ambassador for her firm commitment to further strengthening and deepening cooperation between the two countries.

The premier also urged to cooperate, especially for the work under the umbrella of the United Nations (UN) in the form of information exchange; and to reaffirm commitment on preservation, particularly Sambor Prei Kuk, the newly inscribed temple into World Heritage; and to continue expanding trade and economy.

Prime Minister thanked France for its contribution to peace building and rehabilitation alongside development in Cambodia.

He wished ambassador a success in diplomatic mission in Cambodia.
