Phnom Penh (FN), July 22 – Cambodia-Vietnam has experienced many difficulties and challenges in many stages of history, stated the Senate President, Say Chhum.
The statement was made when Senate President and Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyễn Phú Trọng presided over the inauguration of a new Cambodia-Vietnam friendship memorial in Sihanoukville on Saturday.
“Cambodia-Vietnam has achieved peace, territorial integrity, development, and contributed to peace, prosperity, regional and global development,” said Say Chhum.
“The good cooperation between Cambodia and Vietnam has now increased with the frequent exchange of official visits, and good relations in all sectors. In addition, there is a trade relationship between the two countries. The border issue is almost completely solved,” he added.
The senate president also boasted about the Khmer United Front for National Salvation (KUFNS) in protecting freedom and interests of Cambodian people and implementing rule of law and democracy.
KUFNS was founded on December 2, 1978 in Kratie in the purpose of gathering Cambodian patriots to fall down Pol Pot Regime.
