Phnom Penh (FN), May 18 – Cambodian Prime Minister, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet urged the people to place their trust in the Royal Government, led by Samdech Thipadei, in its new mandate. He assured them of the government's dedication to maintaining peace, advancing national development, and reducing poverty to enhance the lives of Cambodians both domestically and abroad.

The premier spoke on Saturday (May 18) during his meeting with the Cambodian community in Seoul, the Republic of Korea.

"I ask for your confidence that the Royal Government, under my leadership following Samdech Techo, will remain dedicated to maintaining peace and stability, and to developing the country to reduce poverty," he said. "We aim to improve the lives of our people, both in Cambodia and abroad."

Samdech Thipadei added that the Royal Government is always attentive to resolving the people's issues, though some matters can be addressed quickly while others take more time. He noted that certain initiatives need immediate publicity, while others must be completed before being announced. He cited the case of former tycoon Leng Channa, who defrauded many people, as an example of the government's commitment to protecting its citizens.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also underlined that the Cambodian ambassador to Korea must play a crucial role in fostering connections with friendly countries and providing as much support as possible to the Cambodian people living there.

Please be informed that before departing for a four-day official visit to South Korea on 15 May 2024, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet appointed Ky Tech, Chairman of the Royal Bar Association, to protect and represent the people in legal matters related to the former tycoon Leng Channa.
