PYONGYANG, May 11 (KCNA) – Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, learned about the technically updated version of the 240mm multiple rocket launcher system and watched the test-fire of controllable shells for multiple rocket launcher produced at different national defence industrial enterprises on 10 May

The updated multiple rocket launcher with high mobility and concentration of fire has an automatic fire combined control system and will be deployed to units of the Korean People's Army as replacement equipment from 2024 to 2026.

The launched eight shells hit point target to intensively prove the advantage and destructive power of the updated 240mm multiple rocket launcher system and the controllable shells for multiple rocket launcher.

Kim Jong Un discussed the ways for putting greater spurs to the national defense economic work to raise to the highest level the production of the technically updated multiple rocket launcher system and controllable shells for multiple rocket launcher, and set forth important tasks and orientations.

A significant change will be soon made in increasing the artillery combat ability of the army.
