Phnom Penh (FN), May 7 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet urged the private sector to participate and take full advantages of the National Single Window (NSW) application and provide constructive feedbacks for further improvements.

The premier spoke on Tuesday (May 7) during an official launching ceremony of the application at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.

“The private sector should participate and take full advantages of the National Single Window (NSW) application and provide constructive feedbacks for further improvements. This is a significant goal that I aim to achieve, which we refer to as a public-private partnership that assists in planning, implementation, and shared responsibility," the premier underscored.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei instructed the Steering Committee of the NSW to monitor and evaluate the implementation, improve and expand the system functions, as well as broaden the connection to other business and trade-related information technology systems to meet the actual needs of the business.

Samdech Thipadei also advised that to address challenges of the private sector, ministries and institutions must continue to pay close attention to improving business environment and trade facilitation, and especially pursuing successful implementation of all measures set out in the 19th Government-Private Sector Forum, held in 13 November 2023.

The Cambodia National Single Window (CNSW) enables importers, exporters, and agents to apply for licenses, permits, certificates, and other documents (LPCO) through the online CNSW portal; relevant government agencies processes and approves these applications in the same portal.

This system, together with the customs data automation system, will streamline trade in Cambodia by transitioning from paper-based to paperless operations. It will serve as a crucial component of the digital business ecosystem, enhancing Cambodia's trade facilitation efficiency and effectiveness, while also fostering connectivity with the digital ecosystems of other businesses in the region and globally.
