Phnom Penh (FN), July 12 - At least 30 Cambodia companies are investing in Myanmar in banking and service sectors, while 3 Myanmar tourism and business companies are operating in Cambodia, according to a press release by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
During the official visit for 2 days from July 10 to July 11, Minister Prak Sokhonn meets with President of Myanmar, Htin Kyaw, to speed up negotiations on the agreement to avoid overlapping taxation; and to examine the possibility of an agreement on investment promotion and protection.
The two countries urged cooperation in tourism, the connection between people and people, tourist activities plan, organization of package tours, and various tourism promotion activities, as well as explore further cooperation.
The two sides have promoted cultural cooperation as well as promoting education through the exchange of youth in accordance with the Agreement on Education Cooperation for the Year 2017 to 2021, which was signed on February 27, 2017.
The two sides also discussed ongoing issues, including Korean peninsula crisis and terrorism.
