KABUL, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Militants loyal to the Taliban outfit and the rival Islamic State (IS) group have clashed in the eastern Nuristan province, the Afghan media reported on Thursday.
The clash, according to the Khaama Press, flared up in the vicinity of Wanat Waigal district late Tuesday, leaving at least one IS fighter dead and injuring three others.
Neither Taliban nor IS has commented on the report.
Taliban and IS militants have fought each other in the eastern Nangarhar, southern Zabul and the northern Jawzjan provinces over the past one year.
