Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 29 – The World Travel Awards ranked Cambodia as Asia's Leading Cultural Destination 2023.

For the second year in a row (2022 and 2023), Cambodia has been named Asia's Leading Cultural Destination.

With congratulations, the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia underlined on 28 February 2024 that the re-awarding of this title is a reaffirmation of Cambodia's appeal as an absolute must-visit for all avid cultural enthusiasts.

Tourism experts also believed that the award serves as a message that attracts tourists to Cambodia. In particular, some international media reports suggested that Cambodia's tourism appeal is expected to centre on cultural tourism, including temples and natural resorts.

In addition to being named Asia's Leading Cultural Destination 2023, Cambodia was also awarded as Asia's Leading Youth Travel Destination 2023 from the World Travel Awards, the same as it was in 2022, leading three countries, including Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam.
