Phnom Penh (FN), June 9 – India promised to support and advance Cambodian agriculture in an effort to boost economic growth.

The announcement came during a bilateral agriculture meeting between the two countries on June 8, 2017.

“The help includes the acceptance of Cambodian scientists and ministers of agriculture to learn additional skills in India such as seed production, crop management, quality analysis, certifications, and collaboration between field researchers and experts," said Veng Sakhon, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

India will create an expert group with Cambodia under the support of IRRI and will accept proposals regarding planting techniques, laboratory, crop quality, seed processing centers, and others.
