TOKYO, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Japan confirmed the launch by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Thursday morning of surface-to-ship missiles but said there was no impact on its national security.
Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida told reporters that the missiles landed in the Sea of Japan but that there was nothing to suggest the missiles reached Japan's exclusive economic zone.
Kishida said Japan will continue to work with the United States and South Korea to gather more information and analyze the latest launches.
