Phnom Penh (FN), May 31 - Cambodia was elected as a member of the Executive Board, United Nations Development Program, United Nations Population Fund and UN Office for Project Services for 3 years, starting from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2020, according to Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs's Press Release dated May 31, 2017.
United Nations Economic and Social Council confirmed the international recognition of the Cambodia's significant role in setting the agenda on the main theme of sustainable development.
MoFA pointed out that as the fastest growing economy with a remarkable achievement in poverty reduction, as well as targets of Cambodia Millennium Development, Cambodia believes that the country's experience could benefit the UN's efforts in addressing global development issues.
