Phnom Penh (FN), May 31 - 17 Cambodian workers were arrested by Vietnamese marine police while working for Thai and Vietnamese boats on illegal oil trade and shipping in Vietnamese waters, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs's spokesman Chum Sounry on Wednesday.

The workers were arrested on May 21, 2017. They are currently in detention on the island of Phu Quoc (Koh Trol), Vietnam.

After receiving news, Cambodian Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City visited and coordinated with Vietnamese authorities to help them return to Cambodia.
