Phnom Penh (FN), May 22 – During a call with French Ambassador to Cambodia Jean Claude Bimboeuf, Prime Minister Hun Sen revealed his desire to resolve border disputes with Thailand, Vietnam, and Laos once and for all.
“Both sides discussed the expansion of relations and cooperation between Cambodia and France. They also discussed strengthening cooperation, to strengthen and enhance economic, trade and strengthening partnerships,” said the Delegate Minister Attached to Prime Minister Sri Thamrong.
The government asked for assistance from the UN and France in 2015 to help resolve border issues using maps from the years pre-dating the Khmer Rouge Regime.
The border demarcation between Cambodia and Vietnam has been mostly agreed upon and promises to be settled shortly.
