Phnom Penh (FN), May 17 - The Ministry of Interior (MoI) officially recognized the three vice presidents (VPs) of the Cambodia National Rescue’s Party (CNRP), Pol Ham, Mu Sochua, and Eng Chhay Eang on Wednesday.
Yem Sovann, CNRP’s Chairman of Executive Committee told the press that the three VPs became the official VPs of CNRP after a unanimous vote.
“I announce to the national and international public that from this day on, Pol Ham, Mu Sochua, and Eng Chhay Eang are the VPs of CNRP,” stated Yem Sovann.
The appointment of the VPs was done in accordance to the newly amended party criteria deposited at the MoI. The amendment of Article 47 allowed for the CNRP to select new VPs at any time.
The previous rule stipulated that VPs must be selected within 30 days, according to Eng Chhay Eang, a CNRP senior official.
