(Tokyo): (FN), Dec. 19 – Japanese Minebea Company announced its intention to further expand its investment in Cambodia, citing a successful operational history and fruitful results achieved over the past 11 years. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet warmly welcomed the expansion project and pledged to enhance the investment climate.

The premier received a courtesy call by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Minebea Yoshihisa Kainuma, on 18 December 2023 in Tokyo, Japan.

Minebea Company, a Japanese firm specializing in electronic component manufacturing, has been actively investing in Cambodia for approximately 11 years.

During the meeting, the CEO and Minebea's management expressed gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia for ensuring smooth conditions for the company's investments. They also encouraged investors to boost confidence in expanding their investments in the kingdom.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei expressed gratitude to the company for its existing investments and its plans for further contributions to the kingdom. The premier continued that the Royal Government of Cambodia has been diligently working to create a sustainable business and investment climate. This includes the introduction of new policies, implementation mechanisms, and legal frameworks, along with the development of key infrastructure such as expressways, railways, and ports. These efforts aim to facilitate and provide attractive incentives for both local and foreign investors.

Samdech Thipadei further disclosed that the government is exploring the establishment of a Cambodia-Japan industrial park and is in the process of developing a logistics master plan to transform the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port into a major regional port. Additionally, the Royal Government pledged to enhance the investment climate in Cambodia, making it more flexible, convenient, and favourable for businesses.
