Beijing (FN), May 13 - Major Chinese investment companies have shown great interest in Cambodia's investment opportunities and have promised to bring projects worth billions of dollars to Cambodia.
The heads of China Huanneng Group, China National Heavy Machinery Company, and China Communications Construction Company paid a courtesy call to Prime Minster Hun Sen Friday to discuss future investment opportunities.
The companies have already invested in 16 road projects, the 190km highway from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville, and the Tatai and Sesan II hydroelectricity dams and transmission line (B.O.T).
They are also planning to invest on railroads and ports in Cambodia as well.
These companies support and are satisfied with the government's development policies.
They have made assurances that their investments will actively contribute to socio-economic development and will not affect natural resources or the environment.
The premier commended the projects these companies brought to Cambodia.
He reiterated the need for electricity and infrastructure to serve its people.
The premier encouraged the companies to bring in more investors.
