Phnom Penh (FN), May 12 - The United Nations will pay $70,000 to each of the families of the Cambodian peacekeepers who died in an attack in the Central African Republic.
The fund will be held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the chairmanship of minister Prak Sokhonn.
The National Center for Peacekeeping Forces, Mine, and ERW Clearance (NCPFMEC) held a wreath laying ceremony for them this morning.
The Director-General of NCPFMEC, Sem Sovanney, led the ceremony.
On May 8, rebels attacked the UN's MINUSCA causing four deaths and one injury.
“Im Som, Mao Eng, Seang Norin, and Mom Tola died from the attack," according to the spokesman.
