BEIJING, Nov. 11 (TASS) - Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng expressed concern about Washington’s sanctions, export and investment restrictions at a meeting with US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, the Xinhua news agency reports.
According to Xinhua, He Lifeng called on Washington "to take specific steps" to resolve these issues.
On the whole, the consultations are reported to have taken place in a constructive atmosphere. The parties thoroughly discussed bilateral and global issues of mutual interest.
According to media reports, both parties are making active efforts to normalize relations during the Chinese vice premier’s visit to the US. Special attention is being paid to the implementation of the consensus that was reached by the two countries’ leaders, as well as to the economic agenda ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to the US scheduled for November 14-17.
China’s Global Times newspaper points out that the US has so far imposed sanctions on more than 1,300 Chinese individuals and entities.
