Phnom Penh (FN), May 3 – Minister of Information (MoI), Khieu Kanharith stated that Cambodia will organize the International World Freedom Press in 2018 to further promote the media sector in Cambodia.

The statement was made today, which marks the 16th anniversary of World Press Freedom Day.

The MoI celebrated the day by inviting journalists from all media sectors to join  together for the exchange of ideas in order to further the  development of journalism in Cambodia.

“Cambodia will host a world-class Freedom Press Day next year. We will invite representatives of international institutions to join us,” stated the minister.

Cambodia’s Press Freedom Day's theme this year is “New Media, New Opportunities, and New Challenges: Media’s Role in Advancing Peaceful, Just, and Inclusive Societies”.
