Phnom Penh (FN), May 1 – The sale of tickets sold at Angkor Archeological Park (AAP) have earned almost $40 million in profits during the first quarter of 2017.

This is a 60% increase when compared to this time in 2016, according to statistics from Angkor Enterprise.

There were 945,366 tickets sales to AAP, which profited $39.2 million.

Angkor Enterprise deposited $8 million into the government's national budget and donated an additional $62,000 to Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospital.

The donation reflects the government's ongoing efforts to ensure the sustainability of operations at Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospital (KBCH).

The governement will continue funding KBCH every three months, using the earnings from Angkor Archaeological Park on top of annual financial support.

The ticket to AAP is categorized into 3 types: the ticket fee for a single day visit is $37;  a 3-day pass costs $62 (valid for up to 10 days) and a 7-day park allowance is $72 (valid for up to 30 days.)

$2 from each ticket sold to each foreigner will be kept as a donation to KBCH.
