Phnom Penh (FN), May 1 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFA) issued a statement regarding the result of the 30th ASEAN Summit in Manila, on Sunday.
According to the press release, Prime Minister Hun Sen joined the 30th ASEAN Summit under the theme “Partnering for Change, Engaging the World” at the invitation of President Rodrigo Duterte of the Republic of the Philippines.
The Premier also attended the ASEAN Leader's Interface with Representatives from the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and
representatives of ASEAN Youth.
“During the Summit, the Leaders had a deep discussion and fruitful consultation on many of the important issues of ASEAN’s common interests and concerns of the three pillars of the ASEAN Community, the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN and the six priorities of 2017, namely (a) A people-oriented and people-centered ASEAN; (b) Peace and
stability in the region; (c) Maritime security and cooperation; (d) Inclusive, innovation-led
growth; (e) ASEAN’s resiliency; and (f) ASEAN: a model of regionalism, a global player,” MoFA wrote in the press release.
