Phnom Penh (FN), April 29 - The National Election Committee (NEC) has spent $2 million on the printing of 9 million paper ballots which will be used in the upcoming commune council elections, according to NEC spokesperson Hang Puthea.
"The number of printing ballots needed for the election is 9,426,600 which equates to an estimated cost of around $2 million," stated Puthea.
"There are 7,865,033, registered voters," he added.
The election will be held on June 4, 2017. There are 9,000 candidates representing 12 parties running for office.
