Phnom Penh (FN), April 28 – The Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) has granted one more week for submissions of Closing Briefs in case 002/02 against Khieu Samphan and Nuon Chea, according to a press release on Friday.

The schedule for Closing Statements was also modified.

The briefs had previously been set to begin on 5 June, but have been rescheduled to begin on June 13, 2017.

The change was necessary to allow time for both parties to prepare and present their respective arguments while ensuring that proceedings in the case are concluded in a timely manner.
