Banteay Meanchey (FN), April 28 - Approximately 700 Cambodian workers have been arrested while trying to cross the border illegally into Thailand.

“I used to work in Thailand before and earned about 300 baht ($8) per day,” said one of the workers.

“The brokers who recruited the migrants charged a fee of 2,500 baht ($72) from each worker.

We then had to hide in the fields and wait for a truck to pick us up. Three days passed by, but we did not see any truck," he added.
