Phnom Penh (FN), April 28 - The scrutiny of 108 foreigners by the Departments of Investigation and Immigration, led to the arrest of 71 people by local police.
All of those detained were found to be lacking passports and other legal requirements.
Ouk Hai Sila, head of Immigration for the Ministry of the Interior, conducted the inquiry alongside Sean Sok, Phnom Penh Municipal Court's deputy prosecutor.
When asked about the case Ouk Hai Sila stated, "The authority reviewed the credentials of 108 foreign workers, including Chinese and Vietnamese.
The Investigation Department detained 71 foreigners illegally living in Cambodia.
They were sent to the General Department of Immigration for legal action."
